I personally prefer that they put a picture of a lovable baby animal doing something goofy than another annoying pretty face. The incongruity (if next to a loan servicer or if in the above featured ad) would probably make people pause and get befuddled. It would also make my day seeing cute happy things. But then, I'm the type who says "awwwwww" at emails that contain random baby animal pictures. Hopefully the idea will catch on.

I opened my email this morning to see this very ad staring at me and have often been baffled by it. What does it have to do with earning a degree? Or going to school at all? And why must it always pop up at the most inconvenient of times? Online advertisements are annoying enough, especially when you print an article out to find that an ad has blocked the most essential part of the writing, but advertisements that also make no sense and have been recycled for years? My worst pet peeve. Though as you say, it must be generating business or they would have changed the ad months ago...maybe it's the jewelery?
